LETTER FROM THE -----------------
“A DEFINITION OF FRIENDSHIP” FOR POSSIBLE FRIENDS1

INTRODUCTION

I am not normal. And do not intend to become one. Throughout my life has faced this question “Are you nuts?” And life so far has been a continuous struggle with self and rest of the world to make sure that
“I am not nuts “. So far has been able to maintain a thin hold on reality and sanity; I cannot guarantee you it will continue so in the future too.
Lucky for me or unlucky for my friends I have never been without friends through out the life .they have been with me always when I needed them the most.
1 To get tickets to a packed concert or show
2 To share a joke that others miss
3 To wonder how we can be still friends after all that happened between us
4 To converse silently
5 To borrow the dress, money and all they own
6 To make fools of others and sometimes to be fooled too
7 To hold a impromptu party (mostly boozing)
8 Partners in bird watching, angling, gardening and cycling
9 To share a book
10 To call proxy
11 To argue
12 to confess
13 to fight
14 to laugh at
15 to be laughed at
16 to cry
17 a shoulder to cry; but mostly a shoulder to fall asleep
18 a sane voice amidst all my insanity
19 to question
20 to wonder at

Yeah, if I continue in this vein the list will be endless. By now you got a taste of my insanity I think .I wont blame you if you stopped reading after this .if you are brave enough then continue reading .Else adieu!

Now the time has come for me to explore the unchartered waters.ie to make friends with people whom I haven’t know for years. So far all my friends have been friends whom I grew up or studied together with a few exceptions. They all had known me for years and have never been flustered by unconventional nature of mine.
But now I am in a different environment where people around you are all new and come from a different social economic and cultural back ground. So the usual pattern of waiting for friendship to happen ie (to accept anyone who is willing to talk to me) is not working in these changed circumstances.
So in order to fill the gap of friends at hand (who are around me ;not a phone call away ) I am inviting new openings. People with great fortitude and risk aptitude may apply. Good Luck to you all!

Definition of Friendship

Each friend represents a world in us, a world possibly not born until they arrive, and it is only by this meeting that a new world is born

A friend is oneTo whom one may pour out allThe contents of one's heartChaff and grain, together,Knowing that the gentlest of handsWill take and sift it,Keep what's worth keepingAnd blow the rest away

True friendship comes when the silence between two people is comfortable.

Friendship is unnecessary, like philosophy, like art... It has no survival value; rather is one of those things that gives value to survival

We cannot tell the precise moment when friendship is formed. As in filling a vessel drop by drop, there is at last a drop which makes it run over. So in a series of acts of kindness there is, at last, one which makes the heart run over.

A true friend knows your weaknesses but shows you your strengths; feels your fears but fortifies your faith; sees your anxieties but frees your spirit; recognizes your disabilities but emphasizes your possibilities.

A friendship that can be ended didn't ever start.

Fate chooses our relatives, we choose our friends.

So now you know what friendship is to me.
Do our philosophies agree? Then be my friend.
Does it disagree? Then be my friend

For
Each friend represents a world in us, a world possibly not born until they arrive, and it is only by this meeting that a new world is born

Don't walk in front of me, I may not follow.Don't walk behind me, I may not lead.Walk beside me and be my friend.

LONG TERM FOCUS
To graduate as much as possible; as many as possible of my class A friends to Class B friends
For
One friend in a lifetime is much; two are many; three are hardly possible. Friendship needs a certain parallelism of life, a community of thought, a rivalry of aim.

RISK VS REWARD IN THE LONG RUN
The risk is losing your patience, control, cool ,piece of mind or whatever you call the general state of calmness of mind. You will be exasperated that such a kind of guy exists. I too may entertain the same thoughts. But in my opinion the reward in the long run ( a true friend) far out weighs the risks involved.
Anyway it is your call

BECOMING A FRIEND
When can we say we have become friends?
We cannot tell the precise moment when friendship is formed. As in filling a vessel drop by drop, there is at last a drop which makes it run over. So in a series of acts of kindness there is, at last, one which makes the heart run over.

.

SUMMARY AND CONCLUSION

I am not normal which you have surmised by now .But each one of us is different
If all the people in the world thought and acted alike then it will be a dull place to live
So why don’t we make it a colorful place to live ………….together if we can
Else in our separate paths …………..but both making that corner of world bright and beautiful
